The Calvin College Knights are proud to officially announce the commitment of Cory Holden.

Capping off a successful career at Grand Rapids Christian High, Cory was named All-State Honorable Mention last season after notching 6 goals and 25 assists in just 21 games for the Eagles.  He was also named All-Conference last season and following his junior season he was named Team MVP.  Cory is an excellent set-up man and a very hard worker on the ice.

Head Coach Mike Petrusma had this to say about Cory and his commitment to the Knights:

“We’ve obviously had a lot of success with some of the top players coming out of GRCHS.  I expect Cory to follow in that tradition and make an impact for us in his first season.  He’s an above average skate with great vision on the ice.  He looks for the pass first but also has the ability to score when he has the chance.  He’s a guy that is a great addition to the locker room and I’m really excited to have him in the program.”

Why did Cory choose Calvin?

“When skating with the team and sitting in the locker room with all of the guys, it was clear to see that everyone genuinely liked each other.  That to me was the biggest factor in choosing Calvin.  Also the whole coaching staff is a joy to be around and everything surrounding Calvin hockey is just a happy, fun place.”
